Support Staff

Did you know we have some amazing people working for the church to keep it efficient, effective and graciously driven?

Meet Luis Rodriguez, our part-time evening custodian. Luis joined the staff at the beginning of 2018 and has brought amazing improvements. Six days a week, he is on the campus cleaning, sprucing, preparing the campus for another day of ministry and work. From scrubbing toilets, to emptying trash bins he does the work not many want to do. From stocking paper towels and toilet paper to mopping floors and dusting counters, he is the reason why we do not often think about the cleanliness of our campus. Because of Luis and his continued efforts, we don’t have to.

Each Sunday morning, we find the results of his extra work from the night before when we find tables and chairs set up for The Mission worship service and in various classrooms all around the campus. He has prepared our front steps for the hospitality of the day, and the pews of the sanctuary are clean and orderly.

If you happen to be on campus after 9pm and encounter him, you find a joyful, smiling, gracious presence. He and his wife, Gracie (who sometimes comes to help him), are the picture of generous souls. They are so kind and helpful. We are so thankful for Luis and his service on Staff.

We also want you to meet Antonia (Toni) Howard, our part-time Finance Manager. Toni is our longest standing Staff member. She first came to us in 2012 from a temp agency to help us through a bind, but after proving her aptitude and determination in turning our financial story into a readable and trustworthy tale, we were quick to bring her on board. Along with key volunteers, she handles the deposits each week as well as communicating and sending reports to individuals and staff regarding giving and budget tracking. She is key in orderly processing of billing, payroll, IRS-related forms, etc. She is the behind-the-scenes magic that keeps our organization functioning and efficient. Though she is only here two days a week, she is responsive and helpful – patiently explaining and translating numbers into reports.

If you were to come by and encounter her radiant personality you would quickly learn about her love of Jesus and her desire to let Him lead in life. She keeps her mind and heart filled with goodness and wisdom (you often find her listening to podcasts and preachers as she moves through the details) and often is found sharing those tender thoughts and timely words with Staff and volunteers.
She is an elegant lady with class and character. Her fingernail polish even changes to match her clothes. : )
A momma, grandma and wife, she holds her family close and graciously draws us alongside to feel that love as well. Feel free to stop by on a Monday or Wednesday to experience this gift yourself. Or send her an email to just say thank you – she deserves our thanks!

Luis and Antonia,
Thank you for all you do – from the MANY unseen things behind the scenes to the bold and obvious. Thank you for being in service through your job as you help us press forward in mission and vision for the sake of Christ. We acknowledge you and greatly appreciate you!

With love, Your Church
