SUNDAY SCHOOL

Students grades 6-12 meet every Sunday morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m. We cover the Old and New Testaments in 4-session studies. The lessons are a blend of narrative and traditional theological approaches to understanding the Bible story. Each lesson will focus on one passage that will launch into the larger context of God's story being studied, and how that story is meant to be theirs.

We also do two seasonal studies for Lent and Advent.

CONFIRMATION

Confirmation refers to the decision a person makes to respond to God’s grace with intentional commitment, publicly reaffirming his or her baptismal vows before the congregation. Confirmands are youth in the 7th grade who learn about the meaning of Christian faith, the history and teachings of the United Methodist Church, and an explanation of the baptismal and membership vows they will be professing. Classes typically begin in September and conclude with confirmation Sunday in May.

We will kick off with a Student and Parent Orientation September 8th 9:45-10:45am in the Parvin Center
There will be a $25 fee to help cover costs of a Student Work Book

INTER-GENERATIONAL WORSHIP

While there is great value in offering ministries that are geared toward reaching and discipling our students, the importance of intergenerational worship cannot be understated. The corporate worship gathering of the church should be the place where we collectively gather and respond to the invitation of God—to encounter His revelation. It is the place where, regularly, songs are sung, prayers are offered, creeds are professed, and the Word is proclaimed. Furthermore, in most churches, it is the place where people of various races, ethnicities, socio-economic statutes, and seasons of life (i.e. ages) gather together and are given a common language—engaging in a conversation which has threads connected to the past while also looking forward into the future. It’s the place where this diverse array of God’s children interact, not only with the Living God, but also with one another.
