Kids Against Hunger
Kids Against Hunger

Kids Against Hunger is a non-profit humanitarian organization with a mission to provide fully nutritious food to impoverished children and families around the world…and around the corner. The goal of the organization is for the meals to provide a stable nutritional base from which recipient families can move their families from starvation or food insecurity to self-sufficiency.

PUMC has partnered with KAH many times over the years to pack thousands of meals.

Manna Bags
Manna Bags

Manna Bags are more than just bags; they are bundles of love, compassion, and essential resources for those in need. Packed with hand warmers, nutritious snacks, personal hygiene items, and other essentials, Manna Bags serve as a lifeline for homeless individuals, offering comfort and hope during their most challenging times.

Manna is a term that originally comes from the Bible and refers to a mysterious and miraculous food that was provided by God to the Israelites during their journey in the wilderness. According to the biblical account in the Book of Exodus, manna was described as a sweet, bread-like substance that appeared on the ground each morning, providing sustenance for the Israelites when they had no other food sources. It was seen as a divine gift, sustaining them during their difficult journey.

In a modern context, the term “manna” is often used symbolically to represent unexpected or life-sustaining provisions, or simply as a reference to food in a more general sense.

We encourage you to pick up a Manna Bag to keep in your car so you are ready to help when the opportunity arises. Baskets can be found by the Welcome Center at the East Entrance.

Join us in making a difference, one Manna Bag at a time, and be a part of the positive change our world needs. Together, we can make homelessness a little more bearable, one bag at a time.
