PUSH!

Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Matthew 17: 20 NIV

Jesus uses the smallest of seeds to reveal one of the greatest Kingdom truths. At first glance, it sounds impossible. Mountains feel massive and permanent. A mustard seed is tiny and almost weightless. How could something so small move something so large? This passage is not about the size of our faith but about the power of the One we place it in.

Jesus invites us to give Him something to work with. A step. An open heart. A willingness. We do not have to have everything figured out; that was never our role. He asks us to lean into Him so He can guide us.  Faith is not stationary. It either grows and glows or withers and dies. We are always moving toward Him or away. The mustard seed may be small, but it grows into one of the largest plants in the garden. Jesus meets us where our faith is and He grows it strong and steady.

Mustard-seed faith is attainable. If Jesus had required enormous faith, many of us would never begin. We would feel overwhelmed before we ever took the first step. Instead, He asks for something small so He can do something great. He is asking little of us so He can provide big. He shapes our faith like clay in His hands molding it, strengthening it, aligning it with His truth. He is not asking us to take the captain’s wheel. He does the heavy lifting. The battle is His to win, not for us to take. If it is His will, the victory is already secured.

Our role is toPUSH(PrayUntilSomethingHappens)  PUSHing strengthens the muscles of obedience, hope, and surrender. Persistent prayer links our weakness to His almighty power. Our prayer life reflects our faith. It deepens trust. It builds endurance.

God loves a trier. God does not need perfect faith. He honors willing faith. Persistent faith. Faith that keeps showing up.  He moves the mountain however it needs to move by shifting it, shrinking it, removing it, or strengthening us to climb it.

By experience, I believe in mustard seeds, faith growth, PUSHing, leaning in on trust and mountain moving.  I have never heard the crash of the hammer.  I have never seen the bloody nails, but I have seen what He can do!

Reflection:

Make a list of your molehills and your mountains. Write down your doubts and your questions.Bring them to Jesus in prayer. Ask Him to grow your faith., deepen your trust and help you surrender. Then be obedient and PUSH.

Pray: Lord, thank You for meeting us wherever our faith stands today. Thank You for shaping us like clay and reminding us to release the captain’s wheel. Thank You for carrying what we cannot. Thank you for the power of persistent prayer. Teach us to trust You fully. Glory be to the 3:1!

Keep Praying,Lesley Henry
