Mission: Kairos Prison Ministry volunteers step into this darkness of the prison environment to hold a 3 ½ day weekend, with the majority of participants made up of negative leaders within the prison. Through talks, discussions and Chapel meditations prisoners learn that they are worthy of God’s love, light and grace. That no matter who they are or what they have done, God forgives them. After an inmate has attended a Kairos Weekend they can then join the community of incarcerated Christian Men attending a 2-hour Prayer and Share every Friday night. They work through a series of six questions - sharing, praising and praying together – and become an active community of men who worship God and disciple each other inside the Prison environment. As the Kairos Christian community inside a prison grows and begins to gain influence, the incidence of violence and recidivism rates often decrease. 

Get Involved: 
• Become a Team Member by volunteering for one of three programs: 
    o Kairos Inside, ministering to men and women in prison. 
    o Kairos Outside, ministering to women who are significant others, sisters or mothers of incarcerated men. 
    o Kairos Torch, ministering to incarcerated youth in prisons and correctional facilities. Mentoring an assigned youth. 

• Serve on the PUMC Kairos Inside Team as an outside the Prison Volunteer. 
    o Cookies: Volunteer to bake and package cookies. 
    o Placemats: With your children, color or paint placemats, signing with first name and age. 
    o Pray. Sign up to Pray daily for the 3 1/2 day sessions. Pray that God's Holy Spirit moves the men who are seeking God to make bold moves to change. Pray that God uses the volunteers to show His grace, His forgiveness and His love.

Mission: to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need by collecting shoebox gifts filled with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items for children around the world.

Get Involved:

·     Serve year-round to help recruit and train participants, as well as to coordinate the collection of shoebox gifts.

·     Help to facilitate the promoting, ordering of materials, and packing of OCC shoebox gifts for a church or group.

·     Volunteer at a shoebox drop‑off location to welcome and pray with people who bring gift‑filled shoeboxes to one of their designated sites during National Collection Week.

·     Volunteer at the regional processing centers to carefully inspect shoebox gifts before they are shipped overseas.

Mission: Our Calling helps our unsheltered homeless neighbors walk with Jesus and get off the streets. They ask two questions: “Will you trust the Lord?” and “Can we help you off the streets?” Everything they do is rooted in three C’s: Caring with Dignity, Connecting Intentionally, and Creating Healthy Community.

Get Involved:

·      Volunteer to prep and serve coffee or meals to their guests

·      Shop for clothing and hygiene resources from their Resource Room and assist with laundry and shower services.

·      Help with resources, laundry services, cleaning bathrooms, and playing games or puzzles at the Women’s Center.

·      Sort and organize clothing and hygiene donations for our guests at their Warehouse.

·      Work alongside their staff to engage with individuals experiencing homelessness.
