Levels: Beginners to Intermediate
Age: 18+

  • Program cost of $20 for student workbook
  • Registration for the Fall Semester is now open. Class begins Tuesday, August 26, 2025 with new student evaluations on August 12th & 19th.

Volunteers are needed assist the teacher in class and substitute on the few weeks that the other volunteer can’t be present. No foreign language skills are needed!

ESL has very small class sizes, 1-4 students. So the volunteers work in small groups. The work is personal and relational. Having so many classes lets us tailor the class to the students’ needs and level.

Mission

We were created to be in faithful relationship with God and in loving community with each other. Since communication and language are essential to living in community, the English as a Second Language ministry at Prosper United Methodist Church will promote, encourage, and nurture listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in English.

Program Information

Level 1 (Beginner)
Students with little or no knowledge and use of the English language.

Level 2 (High Beginner)
Students with some knowledge and use of the English language, but limited listening, speaking, and reading skills.

Level 3 (Intermediate)
Students with a working knowledge and use of listening, speaking, and reading skills, but limited writing skills in English.

Fall Semester – September 12 through December 12 (Will not meet on November 21)

Spring Semester – January 9 through May 6
