Eric Breon

Pianist

Eric has been the pianist at PUMC since the spring of 2020 (an interesting time to take on a new job). A preacher’s kid, his first experiences as a service pianist were in middle school, subbing in at his father’s church. Soon after, Eric also began accompanying his high school choir and has relished working collaboratively with other musicians ever since. Originally from Oklahoma, he came to DFW for college, earning a Bachelor’s degree in horn performance from the University of North Texas and a Master’s in the same from Southern Methodist University. During the rest of the week, Eric teaches a number of private horn students and freelances. Throughout the year, he regularly accompanies middle and high school students at solo and ensemble contests.

While much of his free time is still filled with music–whether practicing or finding new listening material–Eric also enjoys film, museums, crosswords, coffee (black), and trying to get through the books on his shelves. Besides appreciating the opportunity to assist with providing music for worship and working with the choir, Eric feels fortunate to be associated with PUMC as a growing church involved with its wider community.
